Question posed by Sleek: Do you have any suggestions for a written parenting plan for a teenage girl?
My husband is a PLANNER. I am NOT. We want to help my daughter who is a middle schooler have more consistency & structure in her goals, discipline and fun/social life in general. I’d rather give him something based on what works for people that what’s gonna come off the top of my head. Don’t tell me this is crazy, I already kind of know that, but please offer any helpful suggestions. She is pretty unfocused and disorganized but since she doesn’t come from that sort of background we need to be unified and proactive to help her and ourselves. Thank you.

Have your hubby help with a plan. Ask her to help him develop it. She then feels like she has had some input. Good luck.

A question asked by Flbisa: question about parenting for teenagers?
do you like the way your parents treat you?
do you think you will be a better parent to your own child?
will you tolerate alcohol, drugs, sex etc
just curious, 10 pts for the best!

I like the way my mum and dad treat me, of course it is annoying sometimes. My mom gets paranoid about me lying to her; one time I went to the Y saying I was going to Leader’s Club, something I do every Tuesday, I came home and she left me a note in my room saying how I was grounded for “lying to her” about the meeting.
I’m not sure it I will be a better parent or not because I’ve come to realize how immature I really am. I most definately will not tolerate drugs or sex because I honestly think getting involved in something like that while you’re so young is ridiculous, why hurry to grow up when you have to be an adult most of you life? Embrace your youth and innocence while you have the chance.

A question from Lunyta88: Having tattoos is a problem when parenting teenagers?
well my husbands parents have about 13 to 15 tattoos all over their body but they could be cover with a short sleeve t-shirt, well my husband got his only tattoo when he was 16 and claimed that he got it because his parents had one and how can they say no when they have them all over so now im scared that us having tattoos (one each) is gonna make a difference when our son is a teenager and wants a tattoo. How can i tell him no? is like : you have to go to college and graduate when either one of us graduated from college yet. my son is only 4 months old
i have tattos!!!!! thats not the problem i just dont want to be hypocrite telling my kid he cant have one!

And just what is wrong with having tattoos? I have tattoos, does that somehow make me less human or something? If you tell him no, he’s going to go get one when he’s old enough to make his own decisions. I am going back to college WITH tattoos. I don’t understand your reasoning, there is no correlation between having tattoos and graduating college.
You obviously have a problem with them or you wouldn’t tell someone else not to get them.

A question from Anna: Why do parents freak about teenage girls hugging grown men?
i was hugging this grown man and my mom say and she flipped…does anyone know why?? she told me in front of eveyrone at the dinner table that i would be in trouble if i hugged a grown man again…and i was floored. what’s wrong with hugging grown men????
Most comprehensive answer:
Answer by lone butcher Spartan remembers
Because it’s in a family’s nature to defend the girl. The males are fine, they’re supposed to be tough and all that.. but the daughter is like a father’s princess and he doesn’t want anything to happen to her. I know some dads who are ok with their daughters hugging grown men if the dad knows that guy and he’s a good man… but honestly a lot of guys are creeps and dads know this. And mothers don’t trust anybody haha.

A question asked by Melanie: What are the advantages and disadvantages in boys and girls of being a teenage parent?
disadvantages and disadvantages of teenage pregnancy
The best answer:
Answer by Spider Girl
I can’t think of any advantage. I mean having a child is a great experience… but not when you’re a teenager. You don’t have the resources or time to be taking care of a child.
