Are there any religious teenagers/kids here who grew up in a atheistic household?

If so, can you explain to me why you believe what you believe, when your parents (the elders whom you should respect) believe otherwise?

I’m sure they exist, but it’s uncommon. A belief in religion is contingent upon a person’s ability to be brainwashed. And the older a person gets, the harder they are to brainwash.
A person raised atheist becoming religious is far more rare than a raised religious person becoming an atheist for that reason.
I was brought up in an atheistic household, and I decided to follow Buddhism.
There seemed to be something missing from my life, and I realized that the best solution would not be to find whatever was missing, but simply close the hole without having to go find something to fill it up with.
My parents are actually very supportive of my choice, and the only reason really that THEY didn’t choose buddhism is because they simply do not have the time (they are very busy people).
