There seemed to be something missing from my life, and I realized that the best solution would not be to find whatever was missing, but simply close the hole without having to go find something to fill it up with. My parents are actually very supportive of my choice, and the only reason really that THEY didn't choose buddhism is because they simply do not have the time (they are very busy people). A belief in religion is contingent upon a person's ability to be brainwashed. And the older a person gets, the harder they are to brainwash. A person raised atheist becoming religious is far more rare than a raised religious person becoming an atheist for that reason. I’m sure they exist, but it’s uncommon.
