What would be a good book for me to read??? I’m 17…And I am currently reading ‘Just Listen’ by Sarah Dessen…I’m reallyyy enjoying it so far, but I’d like to get some options as to what I would like to read next, something that I could probably find at my schools library..
Maybe a book that deals with everyday teenage problems (Sex, drugs, alcohol, eating disorders, teenage pregnancy, etc.)
Anything you guys would suggest among the lines of that would be Great.
And thanks in advance!

The Clique series by Lisi Harrison. THe best books I have ever read!
lord of the flies
twilight, new moon, and eclipse by stephenie meyer
gossip girl and maybe the clique
Go Ask Alice was a big hit when I was younger. Of course it dealt more with teen problems in the 70′s. I don’t remember the name of the author.
Good luck!
How about The Cliques. By Lial Harrison. It’s a really good series to read. It deals with popular teen girls and the everyday lives.
“Gossip Girl” but not “The Clique”. The people in “The Clique” are like 7th graders.
that book is awesome!! another good one is ttyl. its all writen in
IM’s
the book theif or speak
V.C. Andrews. books are very good, and quite popular, fpr women of all ages
the gossip girl series, a-list, an dthe clique are good choices! gossip girl is about to have a series on the cw so you know it’s good!!!
This doesn’t talk about modern problems, but The Secret Garden is a wonderful book. it may be a little young for you, but it is an amazing classic.
Read Stuck in Neutral it will take you a day to read but it’s interesting.
I’ve read books by Sarah Dessen and really liked them. I would also suggest Gossip Girl and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series, which is AMAZING! You might also want to check out The A List. Good luck!
I advice you start reading more on enhancing your financial IQ, for a start read Robert Kiyosaki’s Rich Dad Poor Dad if you haven’t read it yet. You’re 17 and by the time you get your very own credit card or checking account you’ll save yourself from a lot of trouble and debt, and actually learn how to make money out of passive incomes. It’s worth the read, you’ll thank me someday
If you’re looking for romance, I’d give Danielle Steel novels a two thumbs up!
Highly recommend “She’s Come Undone” by Wally Lamb…it hits all the requirements you mention, except POSSIBLY alcohol, pregnancy. But prob’ly gets them too. Amazing book.
You may like these books:
-The catcher in the rye (JD Salinger)
-Steppenwolf (Herman Hesse)
-One hundred years of solitude (Garbriel García Márquez)
Good luck, I hope it helps
=)
I read all of Nicholas Sparks books by the time I was 17 and I loved all of them!
King Fortis the Brave or Harry Potter
wally lamb, I know this much is true.its a great read for anyone your age or older
gossip girls and the clique books! they are THE best books eva! the clique books has about 8 novels now and the gossip girls hav alot!!!!!!
I’m a year younger than you and I just read Twilight and just about to read New Moon by Stephanie Meyer. Twilight’s an AWESOME book if you love romance, a little bit of thrill and horror, and just a really compelling story that you won’t be able to put down. I had a really tough time tearing myself away from it long enough to brush my teeth!
how about
the diary of a young girl by anne Frank
Go Ask Alice (Anon)
If you want books similar to Sarah Dessen, you might try the works of Deb Caletti. Several girls your age on our library’s Teen Advisory Board like both authors. Caletti has written several books, including:
The Nature of Jade
Wild Roses
Honey, Baby, Sweetheart
Also, I just read Story of a Girl by new author Sara Zarr; it was really good.
Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson is pretty much a teen classic. If you haven’t already read it, you should try it.
You should see if there is a librarian who specializes in teen literature at your library. She or he might have even more suggestions.
Katie Maxwell has an awesome series she is writing about a girl named Fran it starts out with Fangs and then Circus of the Darned I love them to pieces!!!
If you’re up for something light, funny, and British, take a look at Louise Rennison’s CONFESSIONS OF GEORGIA NICOLSON books. The ninth one, LOVE IS A MANY TROUSERED THING, was just published a few months ago.
Sloppy Firsts by Megan McCafferty, then Second Helpings, and Charmed Thirds, and I think the newest one is Fourth Comings.
I’m not even a teenager anymore and I thought they were really good reads.
Good luck!
