How do teenagers throw parties with alcohol?

June 4th, 2009 | by Dad |
pensive asked:

Are their parents out-of-town or do they do it when the parents are just away for the day. Or do they do it in the basement, discreetly… Or do their parents just don’t care?

They see how idiotic their parents are getting drunk so they want to get in on the fun. And who wouldn’t? Rehab centers. Liver disease. Hangovers. Hospitals. Divorces. Oh yeah, go booze.

your lucky if you can find a house where the parents dont care, if not then mostly parties happen when the parents are out of town. its pretty dumb to throw one when the parents are in the house…

They get older friends to buy it for them…or their parents do. I had a friend that had alcohol at her open house (graduating high school). Her parents provided alcohol to everyone- even minors under the age of 18. Stupid choice- but thats what they did.

you suck **** on the side of a liquor store then instead of cash ask the guy for alcohol :]

Mostly a combination of all of those, except the basement thing, I’ve never heard about that one. Another way is prom night, and that usually ends up in a hotel room with a lot of alcohol, and other things happening that night.

this is illegal, but a girl in highschool I knew, her mom provided the alcohol for her parties and she was a softmore at the time when i found out.

many ways are possible, like every single one you just mentioned.

i know people who will get you some just for the heck of it. of course you have to pay for it. i think its funny how dangerous alcohol is here but in other countries their day is filled with it. Even at the age of 10 in some countries they drink.
for example they wake up at 9 take a siesta during the day then work for 2 more hours and are home by 4. During this time they are most likely relaxed. I wish America was more like that.

Teenagers most often throw alcohol parties when the parents are away.
The majority of educated and asstute parents wouldn’t let their kids throw an alcohol party.
If the parent are home and the teenagers throw an alcohol party in the basement, the parents would have to be morons to not know what is happening.

I agree….it’s all of the above, but I put more stress on parents who just do not care or supervise.

All of those, or they go to a place like a park and everyone goes and bring weed and alcohol and food and parties or they sneak it into a birthday party and pretend it’s soda

Ok, so yes alot of us have done underage drinking. Mine was mainly in college which is a little bit better than high school. It’s dangerous to do in high school b/c you have kids who are driving so i dont support that, and they are too young and kind of act Just Plain Stupid while under the influence.

Kids get away with it in many ways. I’ve been to parties where the parents are upstairs. They just dont assume anything so they dont think to go in the basement and check it out.

It sure seems like there ar alot of irresponsible parents out there, who don’t seem to care what their kids are doing:) Have you seen the questions from 10-yr-olds about what to make for dinner, because they’re hungry? There seem to be alot of selfish, self-centered parents who are more concerned with their own lives, and leave their kids to raise themselves….
