Parents of teenagers, how do you feel about the man’s actions and punishment in this newspaper article?

I think if I walked in my daughters room and saw a ***** male standing there I would have done the same thing. How did the father know? It could have been an intruder hurting his child. It’s instinct.
I would have done the same thing, I say he’s lucky he didn’t get hurt worse, I think he should pay the fine but not do jail time.
WOW!!! First of no he should have to do time or pay a fine…as a mother of 9 daughters if i found a man ***** on my daughters bed i would pull my gun, fire and then ask questions….this day you can’t be too careful and you can’t take the time to find out who the person is
Hmm that’s a touchy subject. I have a daughter but if I found a ***** boy in her room who was her age I probably would have just kicked him out. It’s easy to say “I’d do this” or “I’d do that” but unless you are in the situation it’s hard to say. If that boy had been sneaking into her room for a year than there is something wrong with the parents then, for not knowing whats going on with their daughter. As far as should he pay the fine or do the time?, I’ll leave that to the jury.
OMG my bf was just telling me about this last night. He said if it was our daughter and he saw a ***** guy standing on her bed he would have done the same thing except the guy would definitely NOT have been able to walk out of the hospital because he would have killed him. I agree, that poor dad walks into what he probably perceived as his daughter being ***** by a stranger and acted to PROTECT his child. No he should not be in jail, he should be home getting an apology from the boy and his daughter, and dreaming up punishments for her.
i would have reactted the same way. he was clueless that his daughter was sexually active so when he saw a **** man he went with his gut and probly thought that he was going to **** her so he reacted correctly i think he shouldnt have been fined at all
Well he had every right to do what he did, even though its messed up.
Lord knows what he was thinking, you see a ***** man in your daughters bedroom, my first thought would be someone is trying to **** her.
I bet if it was a rapist, no one would be so upset about this.
Of course he should do time. I wouldn’t want a violent caveman like that walking free.
