Puberty time is hard. It's a battle of the wits. Sure..toddlers can battle as well but it's much easier to control a small child.
When my kids were toddlers, it was hard but it does not compare to the puberty stage at all.

I would say pre teens and teen years my fiance has a 13 yr old that lives with us, she already acts like she knows it all can't do any wrong, and thinks the world revolves around her.

what ever age the child is when the tell you they "hate you"... for whatever reason it makes the world slow down and you feel awful as they slam the door in your face.

My mom has always said the preteen, or ages 12-14 were the toughest and very hard on her. Almost every parent will say the same thing. But, my mom said the hardest part was that we were rebellious, never listened, and didn't want anything to do with "mom and dad". We never did any drugs or anything like that at that age, but I have heard of others and I know their parents have went through Hell and back with them. So I would have to say that age group is the toughest.

I personally have a 8 month old and a 3 1/2 year old and it is tough, but not so bad to be considered the worst age group.

Mine are 8, 4 and 1 but I have seen my sister go through all the phases as hers are all adults now. Everything in life is a phase and when you get something, you lose something. Yes, the kids being school age is easier as far as waking sleeping, feeding, no diapers etc but you are working so hard to teach them right/wrong and keep them safe. The list goes on and on.

My sister tell me to enjoy it because no matter what right now I know where my kids are every night - asleep in their beds. She said that has been the hardest part about letting go - not knowing where they are or what choices they are making etc.

For me the hardest part of parenting is not the stages, it is the incessant worrying.

I believe the hardest part was when my 1st baby was a new born. He is now 3 and 1/2. And I have an 18 month old. I think other than when they're new born, the hardest part would be around 3yrs old. That's when they get their trouble 2's.

My aunt tells me the hardest part of parenting is when they are adults and there is nothing you can do to make them do or not do something.

I think each age has its difficulties. My kids are 7 and 9 but I can see my aunts point, it would be very hard to just set back and watch them fall or make bad choices.

I think the truly hardest part at any stage is when they are sick or hurting either from injury or heartache and there is nothing you can do to make it better except be there for them.
