What is up with teenagers feeling so entitled?

Why do they think they have the right to just do whatever they want yet not pay for their own lives? I wasn’t the best teenager but I certainly knew my place! Is there any hope for the next generation?
Well, my kids aren’t just going to get whatever they want. They don’t throw fits in the store when I tell them no- so far!

I guess this goes for me too, I’m always complaining about wanted to be independent, yet have my parents get everything for me.
As immature as it sounds, it’s their fault for giving me everything in the first place. if I wanted to be independent so badly, when I asked them to buy me a soda they could easily say no. Yet I always get my soda.
Hope? Maybe if you change the motto. “Just say NO to teenagers”.

They’re getting pregnant at 13,14,15,16 years old. Of course there’s no hope.
I know what you mean .. a lot of teens I hear have the attitude of “I should be able to do what I want, go where I want and say what I want – but my parents should still throw money at me when I want it”
That’s where being an actual parent instead of a BFF comes in.
Not Mexican teens we work at a very young age to help support our families. If we do what we want its because we do work and support ourselves. Sadly our women do get pregnant at a young age, but that just makes us work harder for our new family. I am a teen that does feel entitled to total independence, but only because i work i support myself, and i do not constantly nag at my parents for stuff i want. Teens these days should be forced to work by their parents so they can taste a bit of the real world instead of being sheltered half of their life.

how will they appreciate anything if no one tells them no?
believe me, if we could support ourselves we would. but the government wont give jobs to us until we are 16 and the ability to live on our own for another two years.
anything else is for spite.
