Who knows how to deal with teenage drug/alcohol problems?

I’m in high school, a sophomore, and I’ve recently been really conflicted. Well, I’m in the so-called ‘in’ crowd with the jocks and cheerleaders, and I’ve been going to parties lately. Here’s the problem;
I’m Indian (Asian), and I’m really family oriented and try to keep high moral values and principles. I’ve never taken a sip of alcohol, smoked a blunt/cigarette/joint, and I never will. Unfortunately, almost all of my friends and everyone else at these parties do drink and take drinks. So, when I go to a party, I feel like I’m just hanging out with a bunch of idiots who don’t know how to have fun. I mean, a lot of you will say, “They’re not really your friends!” but when they’re sober, I love them to death. It’s just when they’re under the influence that they’re *******. I wanna go out and have fun with them, but they never go out without drinks/drugs. What should I do??

you let them have their fun while you have your own fun being sober. you don’t need to drink to have fun. just be yourself. bring some other friends or at least one of your other friends who don’t drink.
You should find new friends who have the same ideals as you. It’s OK to put an ultimatum on your friendships – if they want to hang out with you, it needs to be sober. If that means that they hang out with you early in the night and then move on to doing their destructive behaviours, so be it.
BTW – I applaud your commitment to your values and your family.
face it you and your friends are walking down different paths. that’s OK just do your own think and keep suggesting clean activities, and don’t pass up opportunities because your friends are too busy getting wasted. remain friends but perhaps not so close, if they really value you they will let you go.
got to find new friends to hang with why hang with people who are so opposite from you in their likes you can still be friends just hang with people who are into the same kind of things you are that only makes sense
