Our parenting styles are differnt..he is WAY to permissive and layed back about the things his children do ie listening to inappropriate music or being disrespectful. When it comes to my children (who are not perfect) he is quick to judge and point fingers. I am more strict and structured than he is and I’m trying to convince him to go to parenting classes….he is stand-offish about it. How do we handle this?

Teenagers and parenting?

Would compulsory classes in parenting and raising children (Along with the usual *** education classes )help reduce the number of babies that are abandoned by young mother who panic after the child is born because suddenly they have this little human who depends on them for everything. Even reduce the number of unwanted pregnancies?

And young boys be actively participating in these programs too (not just for girls.)

Whats your thoughts….

Another thing. Should education on the rights of mother considering placing her child for adoption also be included in these classes. Along with the differences between fostering and adoption.
possum, in Aust high schools *** education classes do happen, it did when I was there, but no education on adoption rights for Nparents. there are girls that could one day end up that position, would knowing more help them.

i agree about the cycle happening in families. would more practical education help these people break the cycle???
Possum it’s alright, I can see you’re passionate about it….
I didn’t mean wanting more adoptions- BUT Girls who have had nothing to do with adoption before in their lives end up in situations where they have no idea about their rights until its too late. I just thought maybe educating them before they end up pregnant and scared could be more preventive in women being conned into giving up babies. I hope that explains it better what I’m getting at with the question.
Local Aust adoption and new born babies!! That stopped years ago… In 1965 private adoption was made illegal, not many people seem to know this kind of stuff and young girls could get trapped by not knowing…

I’d still like to hear more views…
